Survey for linguists

Lucinda Brooks of eCPD and Marta Stelmaszak of Want Words have set up a survey to investigate the gap in business training for translators and interpreters. All linguists are invited to take part before 1 p.m. GMT on Thursday 13 February.

It only takes a couple of minutes to complete - and you will be helping them with a major project to be announced in due course.

Free Conference in Cardiff

A two-day interdisciplinary symposium to be held 24-25 May 2014 has been designed to bridge the often glaring gap between words and music.  It will bring together international scholars from the fields of Translation Studies, language (Welsh, German, French, Italian, Spanish and English) and musicology with practitioners who deal with musico-linguistic challenges on a regular basis, such as composers, singers, translators, and opera subtitlers.
